Rather than concentrating public play in one big centre, Henderson operates a distributed municipal network across a dozen neighbourhood parks and recreation centres — and, unusually, lets you reserve selected courts online, from 48 hours to a week ahead. If you want a guaranteed court at a set time in the Las Vegas Valley, this is where you get one.
Above that sits a private-club tier the city proper does not really have: Anthem Country Club with six lighted courts, and DragonRidge in MacDonald Highlands with five, a dedicated junior coordinator and published non-member lesson rates. Add an active-adult scene in Sun City Anthem and Siena, independent coaches teaching out of the public parks, and Coronado High School — whose girls won the 2025 Class 5A state title and ended Palo Verde’s five-year run.

Henderson has no college tennis of its own, and that is fine — the pathway is short. UNLV’s Fertitta Tennis Complex is roughly fifteen minutes north-west, and Rebel matches are free to watch. What Henderson supplies instead is the tier below: a strong 5A high school scene led by Coronado, club junior programmes at Anthem and DragonRidge, and independent coaches working the public parks.

Coronado is the story. The 2025 Class 5A girls’ team final was played at Coronado, and the Cougars beat Palo Verde to take the title — ending a run of five straight girls’ state championships by the Panthers. They opened the 2026 season as defending champions. Nevada’s 5A is dominated by Clark County schools, so a Henderson programme winning it is a valley-wide result, not just a local one.
Nevada plays both seasons in the autumn under the NIAA, which is worth noting against neighbouring states: Arizona also runs boys and girls together but in the spring, while Pennsylvania and Illinois split boys into spring and girls into autumn, and Indiana, Michigan and Ohio do the reverse.
