Tennis Clubs in the Research Triangle (Raleigh / Durham / Chapel Hill)

The Research Triangle — anchored by Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill — is one of the Southeast's most vibrant tennis communities, home to the iconic Cary Tennis Park, two of the nation's elite collegiate programs, and some of the deepest adult and junior USTA league participation in the region. Cary Tennis Park stands as a crown jewel of public tennis in the Southeast — a 22-court facility operated by the Town of Cary that regularly hosts USTA junior and adult tournaments alongside year-round programming for players of all levels. In Raleigh, private club tennis is anchored by North Ridge Country Club, Chapel Hill Tennis Club, and the North Hills Club, each offering extensive court facilities, active USTA league teams, and junior development programs. The Durham Tennis Center and the Watts Street Athletic Club serve Durham's large and active tennis community.

The collegiate landscape is exceptional: Duke University Blue Devils (NCAA Division I, ACC) compete at the Ambler Tennis Center and consistently rank among the nation's top programs, with both the men's and women's teams earning regular NCAA tournament appearances. UNC-Chapel Hill Tar Heels (NCAA Division I, ACC) compete at the Cone-Kenfield Tennis Center with programs that have produced multiple All-Americans and professional players. NC State University Wolfpack (NCAA Division I, ACC) round out the Triangle's premier varsity programs. Adult league play is coordinated by the Triangle Area Tennis Association (TATA), one of the largest USTA Community Tennis Associations in the Southeast, serving players across Wake, Durham, and Orange counties at all NTRP levels from 2.5 through 5.0.

Whether you are looking for competitive tournaments, organized doubles leagues, junior summer camps, or a private lesson, the Research Triangle provides year-round tennis for players of every age and skill level.
