Where can I play tennis in Raleigh, NC?

Cary Tennis Park is the Triangle’s premier public facility with 36 total courts (25 lighted outdoor plus 7 covered) and year-round programming open to all players. North Ridge Country Club, Prestonwood Country Club and the Raleigh Racquet Club are top private options, while the public Millbrook Exchange courts host most area USTA matches. The City of Raleigh Parks & Recreation Department also maintains dozens of public courts at no charge.

Where can I play tennis in Durham and Chapel Hill?

Durham’s leading clubs include the Watts Street Athletic Club, the Durham Tennis Center and Hollow Rock Racquet & Swim Club, all with active USTA league programs. In Chapel Hill, the Chapel Hill Tennis Club — the area’s oldest facility, in Carrboro — and UNC’s Cone-Kenfield Tennis Center serve the community, with Orange and Durham county parks maintaining public courts throughout.

What junior tennis programs serve the Triangle?

Cary Tennis Park runs year-round junior development and is the Triangle’s primary venue for USTA junior tournaments through its CTP Tennis Academy. Duke and UNC both host summer camps coached by their varsity staffs, and private clubs across Raleigh, Durham and Chapel Hill — including North Ridge, Prestonwood and the Raleigh Racquet Club — operate junior programs with USPTA- and PTR-certified pros.

Does the Triangle offer USTA leagues?

Yes. The Triangle has some of the deepest USTA league participation in the Southeast. The Triangle Area Tennis Association (TATA) coordinates USTA League play across Wake, Durham and Orange counties at NTRP levels from 2.5 to 5.0, and the Western Wake Tennis Association runs additional leagues out of Cary. USTA Junior Team Tennis operates region-wide for ages 6–18.

What college tennis is in the Raleigh area?
