High School Tennis in Illinois

Illinois high school tennis is governed by the Illinois High School Association (IHSA) and contested in two classes — Class 1A (smaller schools) and Class 2A (larger schools) — with boys’ tennis in the spring and girls’ tennis in the fall, each crowning team, singles and doubles champions. Western-Suburb and North Shore programs have long dominated the state tournament: Hinsdale Central owns the most boys’ team state titles in Illinois history, while New Trier is among the most decorated girls’ programs.
