Pocatello & Southeast Idaho Tennis FAQ

Common questions about courts, programs and tennis in Pocatello, Chubbuck and Blackfoot.

Where can I play tennis in Pocatello?

Pocatello has public courts at city parks including Ross Park, Rainey Park and Sacajawea Park, plus school courts around the district. Idaho State University fields NCAA Division I tennis with home matches at Reed Gym on campus. League and junior play is organized locally through the Idaho Tennis Association’s Pocatello program.

What college tennis is in the Pocatello area?

Idaho State University in Pocatello fields NCAA Division I men’s and women’s tennis in the Big Sky Conference, playing home matches indoors at Reed Gym. The women’s team were 2024 Big Sky regular-season champions. BYU-Idaho in Rexburg and the College of Eastern Idaho in Idaho Falls do not field varsity tennis, so Idaho State is the region’s lone four-year program.

Does Southeast Idaho offer USTA leagues or junior programs?

Yes. The area is part of USTA Intermountain through the Idaho Tennis Association, which runs a dedicated Pocatello program of adult leagues, junior clinics and sanctioned tournaments. Pocatello Parks & Recreation supports public-court play, and Tennis Circuits® also provides tournaments, doubles leagues and match play across Southeast Idaho.

Where do Southeast Idaho high schools play tennis?

Pocatello, Highland and Century (Chubbuck) high schools, along with Blackfoot and other Southeast Idaho schools, compete in the Idaho High School Activities Association (IHSAA), advancing through district competition to the state tournament in singles, doubles and mixed doubles.

Are there indoor tennis courts near Pocatello?

Indoor tennis is limited for the public in the Pocatello area; Idaho State’s Reed Gym courts host the Bengals’ matches, and most community play is on outdoor park and school courts. The nearest large indoor clubs are in Idaho Falls, about 50 miles north, which is useful for winter play in Southeast Idaho’s four-season climate.

Are the listed clubs affiliated with Tennis Circuits®?

Some clubs may use Tennis Circuits® software, but this page is a Pocatello and Southeast Idaho tennis directory. Tennis Circuits® provides tournaments, doubles leagues, match play, camps, clinics, lessons, JTT and Club Edition tools for clubs and organizers, and is an official USTA Connect Partner.
