Waco Regional Tennis & Fitness serves as the primary venue for district, regional, and UIL state championships in the area, making it one of the most active high school tennis sites in all of Texas.
Baylor University is home to one of the most respected tennis programs in the country. The men's program has made 27 consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances and won the 2004 NCAA Team Championship, defeating UCLA 4-0 in the final. The Bears have won more Big 12 Conference titles than any other program and have the best winning percentage in the conference's history. The men's team plays at the Hurd Tennis Center — a 12-court outdoor facility with 3,000-seat capacity that hosted the 2015 NCAA Championships — and the Hawkins Indoor Tennis Center. The women's program, led by head coach Joey Scrivano, has recorded 15 20-win seasons and consistently reaches the NCAA Tournament.
