Pennsylvania high school tennis is governed by the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (PIAA), which sponsors separate Girls Tennis in the fall and Boys Tennis in the spring across two enrollment-based classifications (3A and 2A). Both genders contest team championships, singles championships, and doubles championships, with state finals held at the Hershey Racquet Club — girls tennis has been hosted there since 1992. PIAA does not sponsor coed varsity tennis at the high school level; some schools field combined practice squads, but sanctioned competition is gender-separated by season.
Statewide oversight by the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association, organized across 12 PIAA districts.
Schools are grouped by enrollment into Class 3A (larger schools) and Class 2A (smaller schools), with separate state titles for each.
Players and teams advance from district playoffs to PIAA state championships at the Hershey Racquet Club.

Pennsylvania players regularly compete at the USTA NTRP National Championships, the country's premier level-based adult tournament series, with singles, doubles, and mixed doubles draws across the 18 & Over, 40 & Over, and 55 & Over age divisions and NTRP levels from 2.5 to 5.5.
Major metro areas such as Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Harrisburg, and the Lehigh Valley host frequent tournaments, while regional markets — including Lancaster, Erie, Scranton, and State College — maintain highly competitive local circuits that feed into sectional and national competition.
